The Tokyo Stock Exchange, part of the Japan Exchange Group, is the primary capital market in Japan and has three listing groups: Tick Size: found in official Tick Size tables in the respective venues: CHI-X the price of a stock may rise or fall to their upper or lower daily limit price as a result of strong positive or negative public sizes with the SEC initiating its Tick Size Pilot Program. This prompted me to share our experience in Japan, and how Tokyo Stock Exchange will be changing tick sizes after conducting a similar pilot program. As you may know, TSE applies a tiered tick size regime where tick sizes vary depending on the quote price. The Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) introduced a change in its minimum tick sizes on April 13, 1998, for stocks traded at certain price ranges. We investigate the liquidity and market quality of the stocks affected by the tick size change, using a unique and comprehensive tick-by-tick data.
